Joyce Jane Trusler (Schultz), age 85, of Mondovi passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the American Lutheran Home of Mondovi. Susan and Mary held her hand on earth as she was received in the arms of her daughter, Cathy and her husband, Macken. She was born on November 20, 1931 in Mondovi, the daughter of Romie and Johanna (Buchholz) Schultz. On January 15, 1953, Joyce was united in marriage to Macken Trusler of Mondovi. To this union three loving daughters were born.
Joyce attended Mondovi Schools and graduated Valedictorian of her class. She was a faithful member of Our Saviors United Methodist Church in Mondovi. Joyce worked as a bookkeeper at Elkinton Auto, Fisher Auto, Valley Supper Club and Marten Transport.
Joyce will be truly missed by her loving daughters, Susan (Cal) Scharf of Eau Claire and Mary (Robert) Marten of Modena; son-in-law, Greg Weiss of Mondovi; three loving grandchildren, Jason (Molly) Marten of Modena, Brooke (Kurtiss) Olson of Marshfield and Bridget (Cole) Segerstrom of Mondovi; precious great-grandchildren, Maxwell and Madeline Marten, Sophia and Emmitt Olson and Gavin and Lauren Segerstrom; brother, Gordon Schultz of Fall Creek; sister-in-laws, Franny Schultz of Mondovi and Linda Schultz of Eau Claire; also by nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends; her dog Sebastian.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Macken; daughter, Cathy “Stretch” Weiss; brothers, LaVern Schultz and Gary Schultz and sisters, Ileen Thorson and Blanche Rediske.
A memorial service will be held at Our Savior's United Methodist Church, Mondovi on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 12:00 PM with Chaplain Gary Preston officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:30 am until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Joyce's name to Our Savior's United Methodist Church, Mondovi Historical Society or to the Buffalo County Humane Association.
