Joseph Raymond Schneider, age 90, of Mondovi, passed away early Saturday morning of June 17, 2017 at Dove Healthcare West of Eau Claire.
He was born one of ten children born to the late John and Theresa (Browskowski) Schneider on August 29, 1926 in the Town of Montana, Buffalo County, WI
Joe was united in marriage to Shirley Koepp on May 10, 1948 at the old Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mondovi. To this union, two daughters were born.
In his early days of working, Joe was a mechanic for Hintermeyer Implement and for Neuheisel Lime Works before he began his own business, Schneider Farm Service. Joe was a very successful and meticulous mechanic and was known for his innate ability to fix whatever was put before him.
In 1952, Joe purchased a farm on Hoyt's Creek Road in the Town of Drammen on which he and his wife lived and worked for many years.
Joe was a longtime and devoted parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mondovi where he rarely missed a Saturday evening Mass.
Joe will be remembered as a man of the earth, loved the land around him and cherished life. He was also a man of great faith and had a family first approach to life.
Joe will be sadly missed by his daughter, Barb (Mike) Stanton of Mondovi; grandchildren, Kenneth (Melissa) Stanton, Andrew Stanton, Peter (Stacie Strauch) Stanton, Amanda Stanton, John (Debbie) Attaway, Willie (Donna) Attaway; Joseph Wayne Attaway, Karen Marie Attaway, great grandchildren, Logan Nyberg, Brianna Heath, and Mark Stanton; Shelby Bauer; Morgan (Nicholas) Chambers; Ramsey and Lucy Attaway; Mackenzie and Madalynn Morgan and also by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents and wife Shirley, Joe was preceded in death by his daughter and son in law, Karen and Tony Attaway; brothers, Roy, John, Tony, Nick, Ben; sisters, Ann, Theresa, Helen and Mary.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Paul Bosco as Celebrant. Burial will follow at the Parish Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 20 from 4:00 PM until 7;00 PM at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Mondovi Chapel and again at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the hour of the Mass.
