Jonathan L. "Jon" Nedland, age 64 of Mondovi, died unexpectedly on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire. He was born on May 3, 1953, the son of Laverne and Muriel (Schlough) Nedland. Jon was rasied in the Prairie Farm area and grew up on the farm.
He worked as a crop measurer and more recently, built custom cabinets. He was also the owner of "Jon's Gun Garage" where he was able to incorporate his love of gunsmithing and gun checkering. Jon was a member of Wisconsin Buck and Bear Club and Pope & Young Club. He was an avid reader of all types of books and a traditional archery bow hunter. Jon enjoyed drinking coffee and chatting with friends any chance he could get. He also enjoyed helping out his friend on his angus farm.
Jon had a marvelous sense of humor. His biggest enjoyment was his family. He was a devoted father and loved his children, granddaughters and dog, Anna. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Jon will be sadly missed by his wife, Carol of Mondovi; children, Victor of Fall Creek, Lewis (Alicia) of Eau Claire and Mara of Arkansaw; granddaughters, Olivia and Molly; siblings, Mary (Dennis) Gerzmehle of Hudson and Jill (Andy) of Nebraska; a son from his first marriage, Donald Wilson; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held at Talbot Family Funeral Homes - Mondovi Chapel on Sunday, July 23, 2017 from 1:00 - 5:00 pm.
