John H. Lunderville, age 91 of Mondovi, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Hillview Senior Living, Mondovi. He was born on December 18, 1926, in Mondovi, the son of John S. and Matilda (Urness) Lunderville. On April 7, 1951 John was united in marriage to Marion Julson in Stillwater, MN and to this union five children were born. John worked for over 36years at Northern States Power in many departments. After his retirement, he worked part-time at the Mondovi School District. John also owned and operated a farm with a herd of Hereford beef cattle. He was a proud Navy veteren during World War II. John was a member of the American Legion and a life member of the VFW both in Mondovi and the National Guard. Following his retirement, John and Marion enjoyed traveling to different parts of the United States. A recent highlight in his life was the trip with the Freedom Honor Flight in May of 2017.
John will be sadly missed by his children, Greg (Mari) of Mondovi, Mark (Julie) of Nelson, Kay (Jon) Granger of Eau Claire, Karen (Calvin) Brantner of Mondovi and Karol (Jim) Creaser of Menomonie; six grandchildren, Kari (Josh) Sandberg, Krista (Sheamus) Cooke, Kassondra (Kevin) Bryant, Kenny Creaser, Klarice (Paul) Schiller and Korrina Bauer; great grandchildren, Emma and Quin Sandberg, Jaxon, Hatti Belle and Oliver Cooke, Tristan, Gideon, Jameson,and Kaiden Bryant and Kingston Creaser; furry companion, Molly; other relatives and dear friends at Hillview Senior Living.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marion and brother, Marshall.
A funeral service will be held at Talbot Family Funeral Homes, Mondovi Chapel on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Rolf Morck of Central Lutheran Church officiating. Burial to immediately follow at Riverside Lutheran Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the time of the service.
