Joan Carol Gunderson, age 74, of Gilmanton, WI passed away on Monday November 26 at Mayo Health Systems, Eau Claire, WI following a brief illness.
Joan, born in rural Buffalo County on August 4, 1938, was the daughter of John “Jack” and Cora (Voldsness) Zenger. Carol was employed at Mahlum’s Pharmacy and also volunteered much of her time at the voting polls for the Town of Gilmanton, even recently this past election, despite her failing health.
Joan was a life time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Gilmanton where she was once an active member of the ladies aide. Joan loved flower gardening and keeping a tidy and clean home for all to enjoy. Joan found enjoyment in attending high school sporting events and also picture taking.
Lately, Joan would attend auctions looking to add to her collection of antique dishes. Joan’s life revolved around her family and especially around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren which was evident through the in depth photo albums she created for each grandchild, detailing their lives and accomplishments from the day they were born until graduation. August 4th, 2012 the whole family gathered for a joyous family reunion. Joan declared this was one of the best days of her life. Joan never gave up the fight during her illnesses.
