Jill Louise (Homburg) Adams, 74, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on November 2nd, 2024, surrounded by family. Jill was born in July of 1950 to the proud parents of William Jr. and Winifred Homburg in Madison, Wisconsin. Jill attended Union Grove Elementary School, Union Grove High School (Class of 1968), and Carroll College. Following Carroll College, Jill followed the path of education like her father, completing coursework at Racine-Kenosha Teacher’s College. Jill was a proud educator at Raymond Elementary School. After becoming a mother, Jill was a substitute teacher in the 80’s, and then attained her realtor license.
Jill married Richard R. Adams on November 10th, 1973, in Union Grove, Wisconsin. Rich and Jill welcomed their son, Richard M., in August of 1975. Most that knew Jill, know she was profoundly serious about her family, her friends, the Packers, and Coca-Cola! In the late to mid-80’s Rich and Jill embarked on a wonderful journey of Coca-Cola memorabilia collecting. This hobby afforded them vast extended family of friends throughout the United States and abroad. Rich and Jill belonged to local and national chapters dedicated to Coca-Cola collecting, where she was actively involved and instrumental in the organization of the local membership and conventions.
Jill’s love for bringing people together included hosting friends for her famous hors d’ oeuvres and cocktails, a legendary “Coke Club Picnic”, an extended family and friends Christmas party in the basement on 12th Street, not to forget the planning, contributing, and attending her proud Class of 1968 Broncos reunions despite her distance from the local area. If Jill was involved, you were not leaving hungry or thirsty!
While Jill’s passing is a shock, she lived life to the fullest. In the past year, she celebrated 50 years of marriage to Rich with a once in a lifetime land and cruise vacation in Hawaii with family and friends, the Packer’s Shareholder Meeting at Lambeau with a cousin, a trip to the Escanaba Casino with Rich to see the Legends music concert, a National Coca-Cola Collectors Convention in Iowa where she was able to catch up with friends from all over the country, as well as a state Coca-Cola convention in Minnesota. Just weeks ago, she traveled back to Union Grove to see her niece get married. This was Jill, on the go to see friends and be with the people she loved.
Jill leaves behind thousands of friends, her loving husband of soon to be 51 years, Rich, her son Rich, her daughter-in-law Alexis, her grand-dog Willow, her brother William Michael (Diana) Homburg, many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews.
The stories of Christmas with Jill have inspired us to host a Christmas Celebration of Life. This celebration will be held on December 18th, at 4PM, at County Line Hall located at 103 200th Avenue in Union Grove, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, the family will be organizing and collecting toys for the Racine/Kenosha County Toys for Tots program in honor of Jill. If you would like instead to make a monetary donation to the Ruzicka-Homburg Memorial Scholarship fund for teachers in Jill’s name, please make checks can be made payable to: Ruzicka-Homburg Memorial Scholarship and forward to her son, Richard M. Adams, 2510 76th Street, Franksville, WI 53126.
