Jeffrey Crandall

Jeffrey Crandall, age 57, of Mondovi, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 1, 2016 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital, La Crosse. He was born on July 10, 1958 in Mondovi the second of two children born to the late Sanford and Aggie (Mengelt) Crandall. Jeff was a 1977 graduate of Mondovi High School and went on to earn an Associate’s Degree at CVTC in Eau Claire. Jeff was employed with various companies, most notably were Eleva Auto Salvage, Hanson Silo in Wilmar, MN, Hutchingson Technology and most recently at Ashley Furniture in Arcadia. He loved hunting and fishing. He always had one more spot in his boat for a friend or family member to join him on a fishing adventure. Jeff would always like to share a fishing story and say “I almost had it” or “really, it was that big”. Jeff also enjoyed cars and trucks, helping others in time of need and always loved a good meal. Jeff is survived by his nephew Zach and Lacey Ashwell and their children, Brody and soon to be Brock of Chippewa Falls; niece Ashley and her husband Cody LaDuke and their children, Reid and Sutton of Mondovi; siblings, Ray Schlegel of Columbus, NE, Robin (Tom) Tjecka of Edison, NE, Ron (Shelley) Brougham of Omaha, NE, Karen (Tim) Trones, of Mondovi; Mom, Marlean of Mondovi; brother in law, Chuck Ashwell of Mondovi; also by aunts, uncles, many cousins and dear friends. Besides his parents, Jeff was preceded in death by his sister, Penny Ashwell. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 8, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Central Lutheran Church in Mondovi. Cremation will follow the service with committal services at Oak Park Cemetery at 4:00 PM. A visitation will be held on Thursday, July7 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Mondovi Chapel and again on Friday from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service at the church.
