Jeannie Cecile (Joswick) Larson of Buffalo City, known to many as “Rarebird” went to be with the Angels in Heaven on Saturday, April 12, 2025.
Jeannie was the first-born child to Louise (Stever) and Mark Joswick on July 7th, 1951 in Winona where she was raised. Jeannie graduated from Winona Senior High School in 1969.
On July 10th 1970, Jeannie married Tom Larson in Winona. Together they were blessed with two awesome children: Julie Ann, and Marcus Wakefield. Jeannie and Tom later divorced.
In September of 2012, Jeannie met the man that she affectionately called “My Guy”, Kim Mills. Together they made their home in Buffalo City, Wis., with their dog, Rose.
During her life, Jeannie enjoyed gardening, stitching, driving her boat to a good fishing spot or to a nice quiet beach. She loved her dogs, Ruby and Rose, with all her heart. One of her favorite memories was at Alma beach spending time there with her kids and grandchildren.
Jeannie was thankful for all her family and friends both near and far!
Jeannie will be forever loved and deeply missed, leaving behind a legacy of cherished memories! If you were lucky enough to know her, you were touched by her creativity and love that she shared!
Jeannie leaves behind many that she loved. Her daughter Julie Ayers of Shafer, MN, and her children; Terrell, Javon, and Treson; Her son Marcus (Meghan) Larson of Brookfield, IL, and their children, Fiona, Grace, Ethan, and Niamh. Her sister Jill Barrientos and her son Brad (Lori) and their children; Brynlee and Joslyn. Her brother Bruce (Lucy) Preeschl. Kim Mills, dog Rose. Also, many special cousins, friends and family. Till we meet again……
Jeannie now joins her parents, Mark and Louise, her Brother LeRoy Preeschl, her special Aunt Margie and many other aunts and uncles who have left this Earth before her.
Jeannie’s wishes were not to have any funeral services. Instead, pour a glass of your favorite cocktail, think about her, the memories you made together and the times you shared.
Jeannie’s family would like to take this opportunity to thank all of her nurses, doctors and the Oncology team at Gunderson Health System in LaCrosse. The compassion and care you provided meant everything to her.
“The first star you see each night is her watching over you”.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations in Jeannie’s name to the Gundrson Medical Foundation.
