Jean Emily Quale
Jean E. Quale, 80 years old of Mondovi , WI passed away on December 9, 2020 at the American Lutheran Home in Mondovi WI.
She was born July 7, 1940 in a small house on Hwy. 88 near Gilmanton, WI. She married Stanley Quale Aug. 3, 1963 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Gilmanton. Jean was eldest of 16 children and graduated with a teacher’s degree from Alma Normal in 1961. She taught 1 year at Pleasantville all 8 grades and 3 years at Gilman Valley School in a one-room schoolhouse. She also worked 29 years as the Activity Director for American Lutheran Home. She then worked for 15 years as Senior Citizen Meal Site Manager, lift van driver for Buffalo County, as well as driving school bus.
She loved reading, listening to music, sewing, many crafts, and to help others in their time of need. Jean had no problem making friends and would start a conversation with anyone. She will be greatly missed by her family, whom she loved being around.
She is survived by her son Edward (Kristeen) Quale, and two grandchildren Kyle and Jarret Quale. Five sisters, Mary McGee, Nancy Winberg, Donna (Kenneth) Schmitt, Dixie (Joe) Kaehne, and Joy Kellner. Eight brothers Dean (Sally) McGee, Dick (Gale) McGee, Jim (Linda) McGee, Larry (Barb) McGee, Bobby (Dixie) McGee, Terry (Kim) McGee, Billy McGee, Shawn McGee. Four sister-in-laws, Joy McGee, Shirley McGee, Jane (Carrol) Enos, Bernice Serum, her ‘adopted sister’ Linda Koenig, and dear friend Leona Anderson. Along with many nieces, nephews and great nieces, nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years Stanley Quale, her parents Jack and Rhodell McGee, two brothers Dale McGee and Randy McGee, three brothers-in-law Nobel Serum, Dwight Winberg, and Jon Steinke. A special thank you to all the nurses at The American Lutheran home.
A celebration of life and burial will follow in the spring/summer of 2021. Talbot Family Funeral Homes- Scenic Rivers Cremation Center assisted the family with arrangements
