Janice Schultz

Janice Y. Schultz, 89, of Mondovi, peacefully passed away into the arms of God on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at AdventHealth in Durand with her daughter by her side.

She was born to Leora Christopherson on November 14, 1934 and was raised by her grandparents, Adolph and Selma Christopherson on their family farm.

On May 28, 1953 she was joined in marriage to the love of her life, Norman H. Schultz for 62 years when he proceeded her in death on December 30, 2015.  To this loving union one daughter, Wanda, was born.

Janice worked numerous jobs over the years but Three Bears Bakery and American Lutheran Home were a couple of her favorites as she loved being around people.

It was in her kitchen, surrounded by her collection of owls that Janice was the happiest.  She loved looking out the window at her flowers and the squirrels that she fed.  She loved playing cards with her family and friends, especially her favorite “Chipper”.  She always said “Put those darn phones down we’re playing cards.”  She also loved to fish, read, and an occasional trip to the casino.

Janice will be deeply missed but forever loved and remembered for her unwavering spirit, warm smile, sense of humor, and the passion she brought to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Survivors include her daughter; Wanda Olson of Mondovi; 2 grandsons; Heath (Sarah) Olson of Spanish Fort, Alabama, Nathan Olson  (Casey Buck) of Eau Claire, WI; 6 great grandchildren; Brooke, Miranda, Zander, Allie, Jenna and Jaxson, 1 sister Barbara Hinderman of Farmington, MN, 1 brother-in-law, Edward Schultz, 1 sister-in-law, Phyllis (Joseph) Hovey of Mondovi, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 31 at Valley of the Shepherd Lutheran Church Mondovi with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be at Thompson Valley Cemetery following the service.

The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Dr. Kenneth Rucker and staff at AdventHealth Hospital for the wonderful care they gave her.
