Jane Marie Tomlinson, age 76, of Arkansaw, WI, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2013 at her home with her loving and devoted twin sister and daughter at her bedside.
She was born on June 2, 1937 in Eau Claire to Clarence and Virginia (Lee) Gustavson.
Jane graduated from the Eau Claire High School with the class of 1955.
On May 1, 1965, Jane was united in marriage Richard Tomlinson in Eau Claire. To this union, Jane and Richard welcomed four children to their lives. Richard preceded Jane in death on March 12, 1993.
Jane was a beautician and used her talents to teach future beauticians at the School of Cosmetology in Eau Claire. When Jane and her husband began to raise their family, Jane took this opportunity to stay home and raise her children. For many years, Jane drove school bus for the Arkansaw school district. This was a job she found great enjoyment in. Even today, years after retiring, the students she took to and from school still remember her name and her kindness.
From an early age, Jane had an affection and belief in Angels which was evident in her vast collection displayed throughout her home. With this said, she was a spiritually sound lady with a deep trust in her faith. She had a humble and humane heart with a love for animals of all types.
Jane will be remembered for her love for golf. The only love that superseded golf was her family that she devoted her life to, especially her grandchildren. It would be an extremely rare occasion to find Jane anywhere else than at one of her grandchildren’s activities or events.
It was Jane’s un-selfish wish to have her body donated to the Mayo Clinic, Anatomy Department to help aid in the advancement of medicine for the benefit of us all.
Jane will be sadly missed by her four children and grandchildren, Gina(friend Brian Lohman)Tomlinson; Troy (Deb) Tomlinson; Joel(friend Brenda Wodele)Tomlinson and Shane Tomlinson; Grandchildren Trevor Hutter, Taylor, Whitney and Brett Tomlinson, Brittany and Cody Tomlinson. By her loving identical twin sister, Jean Anderson; also by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents and husband Richard, her brother John Gustavson preceded Jane in death.
A celebration to remember the life of Jane will be held on Thursday, August 8 at 11:00 AM at the Durand United Methodist Church. A gathering of friends and family will be from 9:30 AM until the hour of the celebration.
Jane’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the entire staff of Mayo Clinic Hospice program for the exceptional care and comfort given to her.
