Ivaneille Christine Thering, age 93, of Alma, Wis., passed away peacefully on Friday, September 19, 2014 at Pepin Health and Rehab Center, Pepin Wis.
She was born on May 29, 1921 in Cochrane, Wis. She was the daughter of Fred and Hattie (Herold) Eikamp.
On October 8, 1940, Iva was united in marriage to Thomas B. Thering at the Montana United Methodist Church, Town of Montana, Buffalo County, Wis. To this union two children were born. Thomas preceded Iva in death on May 8, 2005.
For nearly 55 years, Iva worked side by side with her husband Thomas on their dairy farm in Jahn’s Valley, Buffalo County.
Iva was a lifelong and devoted member of Montana United Methodist church.
Iva will be remembered by many for her wonderful cooking abilities.
She will long be evoked for her gracious and caring heart that would put the needs of her family before the needs of her own.
Iva will be dearly missed by her two children, Richard (Sally) of New Albany, OH and Lana (Sandy) Karp of Carbondale, CO; 4 grandchildren, Holly (Dr. Greg) Cush, Jennifer (Rich) Howe, Grady (Stephanie) Karp and Milu Karp; 7 great grandchildren; one brother, LaVerne Eikamp of Cochrane; also by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, especially Danny and Kathy Hanson and family.
Preceding Iva in death are her parents and husband, Thomas.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 23 at 11:00 AM at the Montana United Methodist Church, Town of Montana, Buffalo County with Thomas Elliot officiating.
Burial will follow at Buffalo City Cemetery.
A visitation will be held on Monday, September 22 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Alma Chapel and again on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service at the church.
