Iva Mae Putz, age 94, of Fountain City, WI, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at St. Michael's Assisted Living in Fountain City. She was born on June 22, 1923, the oldest of 11 siblings born to John and Elfrieda (Bielefeldt) Doebbert.
Iva attended and graduated from Cochrane High School. On March 5, 1946, Iva was united in marriage to Leonard Putz at St. Michael's Lutheran Church. To this beloved union, twin sons, were born. Iva worked side by side with her husband on their farm in Eagle Valley for all of their married life. She not only worked the farm with Leonard, but also provided a loving home for her family. Iva was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Fountain City. Even with her life dedicated to her farm and family, she still found time to help the Ladies Aid whenever it was needed.
Iva had many talents including sewing, embroidery, and cooking and baking for family and friends. Iva found it rewarding to help take care of children. She had a loving, caring, and compassionate heart and always put other’s needs before her own.
Iva will be sadly missed by her two sons, Bob (Wanda) Putz and Dick (Debbie) Putz both of Fountain City; 5 grandchildren, Brian (Teri) Putz, Rebecca (Dennis) Wolfe, John (Lyn) Putz, Jenny (Biswajit Paul) Putz, Janet (Rich) Boyle; 12 great grandchildren; two siblings, Gale Doebbert of Winona and Reathel (Jerry) Beisch of Algona, IA; and also by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents and loving husband, Leonard, 8 siblings preceded her in death.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2017, at 12:00 Noon at St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Fountain City. Burial will follow at the Fountain City Public Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 23rd, from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service.
