Helen Frances Larson

Helen Frances Larson, 83, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 30, 2018 at St. Michael’s Assisted Living, Fountain City. She was born on February 2, 1935, to Lewis and Florence Bautch at home in Wickum Valley. She graduated from Independence High School in 1953 where she was Prom Queen. She married Junior Larson on April 19, 1955 and spent most of their life raising their family in Buffalo City. Helen was known by all for her wonderful baking and cooking skills. She took delight in entertaining family and friends with her carefully planned out home cooked meals. One felt fortunate to be the recipient of one of her beautifully decorated cakes or a box of her Christmas candies. Helen’s recipes continue to be used and requested. Helen was a talented crafter. She mastered a variety of crafts including crocheting, embroidering, and painting. At a moment’s notice Helen would show up with a care package or a shoulder to cry on for anyone in need. Nothing made her happier than spending time with her family. She was adored by her grandchildren who treasured every moment with her. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother David Bautch, sisters Bernice Bautch and Joanie Ystenes, and granddaughter Bethaney Zeller. She is survived by her husband, Junior, their children, Gary (Jane) Larson of LaCrescent, MN, Cindy (Tom) Cyert of Cochrane, WI, Tim (Karla) Larson of Eagle Lake, MN. grandchildren Nicki (Jeremy) Johnson, Barry (Angie) Zeller, Eric (Sherri) Larson, Chris (Michelle) Larson, Katie (Jeff) Larson, Bailey (Jesse) Zeller, Great grandchildren Lauren, Leyton, and Lucas Johnson, Piper, Ty, and Arianna Zeller, Jordan and Kyle Larson, Arthur and Frances Larson. Visitation will be Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Talbot Funeral Home, Cochrane from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A private family service will be held at a later date. Junior and family would like to thank the staff of St. Michael’s Assisted Living and Winona Hospice for their tender loving care.
