Harry Milan Kilde, age 101, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2012, at his home in rural Eleva surrounded by his loving family.
Harry was born on December 18, 1910, in Rock Falls, Wisconsin, to Josephine (Olson) and Engebret Kilde. He attended Thomas School in Rock Falls. He married Beverly June Johnson on July 24, 1937, and lived and raised their family of seven on the farm in the township of Drammen. Harry worked for National Pressure Cooker Company in Eau Claire and as a machinist at John Deere Corporation, in Waterloo, Iowa, J.I. Case, in Racine, Wisconsin, and farmed in Drammen Township. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. In his spare time Harry liked to play his accordions and harmonica, and loved to sing with his family. He was passionate about farming, he tended his gardens faithfully, and he loved to fish.
Harry is survived by his children: Dr. Sandra Kilde of Palisade, Minnesota, Steven (Anna) Kilde of Grove, Oklahoma, Gerald (Diane) of Eau Claire, Robert Kilde of rural Eleva, Richard (Jean) Kilde of Eagle River, Wisconsin, Ruthann Knutson of rural Eleva, Julie (Terry) McDowell of Savage, Minnesota; 24 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Beverly, his parents Engebret and Josephine Kilde, siblings Emil Kilde, Marie Lund, Clara Isaacson, Ida Breden, Julia Breden, Laura Kilde, Delia Wollum, Nora Kilde, Thorvald Kilde, Henry Kilde, and daughter-in-law, Cindy Kilde.
Visitation will be held at the Poeschel-Talbot Funeral Home in Mondovi, Wisconsin, on Wednesday, January 25 from 4 to 7 p.m.
A celebration of his life, officiated by the Rev. Kathryn Gauger, will be at Drammen Lutheran Church on Thursday, January 26 beginning with a visitation at 10:00 a.m.
Service will begin at 11:00 with church interment following.
