Grace Schwab

Grace Emagene Schwab, age 97, of Buffalo City, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Eagles Rest Assisted Living in Pepin.  She was born, the youngest of 11 children, on June 21, 1926 in Birnamwood, WI. Grace attended and graduated from Winona State Teachers College. She taught grade school for several years in Byron, MN and she worked at Watkins Medical Co. in the “Steno Pool” On June 1, 1941, Grace was united in marriage to Richard “Dick” Schwab in Winona, MN. To this union, two children were born.  Grace enjoyed time in her yard tending to her gardens and making sure her lawn looked nice. Many will recall her as she would be on her knees uprooting the dandelions one by one.  Grace’s first and foremost priority was her family and will be forever remembered as a wonderful homemaker, cook, wife, mother, grandma and great grandma Grace is survived by her daughter Susan Kay (Bill Zadurski) Schwab; son, Jeffrey Allen (Liz) Schwab; along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren she adored and loved so much along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Grace was preceded in death by her loving husband of 82 years and her 10 siblings. A celebration of Grace’s life will be held at a later date.
