Gloria Catherine Frost

Gloria Catherine née Symbouras Frost of Mondovi, WI formally of Niantic, CT passed away peacefully at home on April 24, 2024 at the age of 86.  She was born in Bronx, NY on November 23, 1937, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary Symbouras. Gloria was preceded in death by her husband Dorris (Ed) Frost to whom she was married for 45 years before his passing in 2004. Gloria and Ed raised 5 children together,  Linda Buckla, Mary White, Morris Frost, Denise Frost, and Joseph Frost. Gloria was a devout Catholic and was proud of her time working at the St Agnes Rectory in Niantic, CT. Gloria enjoyed traveling all over the US with her children and husband. She never stayed put in one place very long. She raised her children in many places including, NY, Florida, South Carolina, Virginia, and Vermont, finally settling in Niantic, CT. Later in life, she spent time living in Montana and finally her resting place Wisconsin. She particularly loved traveling to Catholic shrines where she found peace. You would rarely catch Gloria without rosery beads in her hand. She would spend hours praying and teaching the rosaries to her children, grandchildren, and finally great-grandchildren as they came along. Gloria is also survived by 2 siblings Rosemary Zicarri and Pat Durr Decheubel. And preceded in death by 2 siblings Andrew and Agnus Symbouras. She is survived by 13 grandchildren, Michael, Daniel, Douglas, Sondra, Edward, Mary,  Ashley, David, Amber, Brandon, Andrew, Rory, and Rafe. And 31 great-grandchildren. Her Brooklyn accent and sweet smile charmed her local community. She was never one to be pushed around, she knew what she wanted and wasn’t afraid to speak her mind. The family would like to give a special thank you to Gloria’s care team at St Croix Hospice who honored her wishes and provided her with compassionate care.

Visitation will be Sunday May 5 from 3:00 - 5:00 pm at Talbot Family Funeral Home in Mondovi. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday May 6th at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Mondovi with burial to follow at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery in Mondovi. Talbot Funeral Home, Mondovi is handling arrangements. Donations can be made to a charity of your choice or St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Gloria's favorite charity.
