Gladys N. Hollister, age 97 of Mondovi, passed away on Friday October 24, 2014 at her home. She was born on February 14, 1917, a daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Fostmeier) Larson. In October of 1955 Gladys was united in marriage to Leonard Hollister. Leonard preceded Gladys in death on May 13, 1963. Gladys was employed for a time as a cook at the American Lutheran Home in Mondovi. Soon after, she began a successful career as a home health care provider with Community Health Options, now known as Gemini Cares. Gladys was a longtime, active and faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church, Mondovi. Gladys was known for her cooking and baking abilities, and how she would always leave behind delectable treats for her family or friends. Gladys will be mostly remembered by her family as a very hard worker, always keeping a clean and meticulous home, her witty personality and her larger than life attitude. Her ultimate love was for her entire family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Gladys will be sadly missed by her children, Ronald (Janet) Hanson of Campbellsport, WI, Darlene (Duane) Gorkowski of Racine, Carole JoAnn Moore of Belvidere, IL, Dennis (Dawn) Hanson of Kingman, AZ, Sandra Conley of Eau Claire, Roger Hollister of Eau Claire, Daniel Hollister of Eleva, William (Mary) Hollister of Eau Claire and Mary Jane (Rick) Miles of Blair, WI; grandchildren, Lori Gorkowski, Julie Schueller, Kathy Blair, Dauine Hanson, Dale Hanson, Doyle Hanson, Jody Clark, Randy Kolstad, Kelly Conley, Jeremy Hollister, Joel Hollister, Nadine Arends, Danielle Hollister, Ginger Larson, Lance Hollister and Brett Hollister; 25 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her parents and husband Leonard, Gladys was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Timothy Hollister, Jason Hollister and Roy James Hanson; son in law, Ray Moore; 6 sisters; 3 brothers and four step children. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 30 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Paul Woebbeking officiating. Burial will follow at Eleva Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 29 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Zion Lutheran Church parish hall and again on Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church.
