Gertrude Hanson

Gertrude Ilene Nichols Hanson, age 87, of Mondovi, peacefully fell asleep and went home to her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at the American Lutheran Home, Mondovi. She was born on June 6, 1928, a daughter of the late Joseph and Ina (Nichols) Borghward. Gertrude married Leonard J. Hanson on January 8, 1947 at Our Savior’s United Methodist Church, Mondovi. She loved to play cards with both family and friends and also enjoyed sewing. Gertrude will be sadly missed by her sons, Richard (Emmy) of New Mexico, John (Dolly) and Dale both of Arcadia, David (Cathie) of Onalaska; daughter, Neuretta (Ronald) Molland of Gilmanton; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; a grandson, Wayne Molland and her half-brother, Clifford Borghward. It was Gertrude’s wish to be cremated with a private family service at a later date. She will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery.
