Gary D. Wick, age 77 of Alma, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2017 at Wissota Health Care and Rehab in Chippewa Falls. He was born on June 15, 1939, in Winona, MN, the son of Oliver and Leona (Markey) Wick. Gary had a few jobs throughout his life, but most recently at Canton Mills and Behrens Manufacturing. He was a past member of the Alma’s Lions Club and a member of St. John Lutheran Church. Gary enjoyed bowling and playing pool, winning trophies for both. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Gary especially enjoyed having coffee at the local coffee shops, chatting with everyone there. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and his little dog, Miracle.
Gary will be sadly missed by his wife, Ruth of Mondovi; daughter, Carisa Jamison (fiancé Quincy Sandberg) of Mondovi; grandchildren, Caleb and Miranda Jamison; 4 step-children; sisters, Audrey Tudahl of Rushford, MN, Janice (Bill) Bell of Austin, MN and Nancy Hopf of Texas; sisters-in-law, Violet Wick and Josephine Wick; brother-in-law, Don Bublitz, Sr.; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Norman Paul; brothers, Emmett Wick, Larry Wick, Vernon Wick; sister, Judy Bublitz and sister-in-law, Wilma (Myron) Popp.
A memorial service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Alma on Friday, January 6, 2017 at 1 pm with Pastor Joel Bacon officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at a later date at Nelson Cemetery.
