Gary Allen Berg

Gary Allen Berg, age 69 of Eleva, WI died Sunday February 23, 2014 at Mayo Health-Luther Hospital in Eau Claire. Gary was born September 9, 1944 in Strum, WI to Kyle and Mayme (Peterson) Berg. Gary married Jean Longseth and to this union they were blessed with two children. Gary pursued farming all of life, being a valued hired hand for many years. Gary enjoyed tractor and horse pulling events and local parades. His favorite pastimes included listening to old time polka music and driving the countryside in his Ford truck. Gary was known to have a soft heart for cats. He also enjoyed cooking and eating a good meal. His true passions though were his children and precious granddaughter, Violet. Gary is survived by his wife Jean of Osseo, WI, his loving daughter Amber (fiancé Seth) Berg, with her daughter Violet of Mondovi, his loving son Wayne Berg of Osseo, his brother Mervin Berg of Oroville, CA, and also by nieces, nephews, and friends. Gary was preceded in death by his parents. A visitation will be at Talbot Family Funeral Homes in Mondovi on Thursday February 27 at 4:00PM to 7:00PM. A funeral service will be at Eleva Lutheran Church on Friday February 28 at 2:30 PM with an hour of visitation prior. Burial will follow at Eleva Lutheran Cemetery.
