Frederick Schneider

Frederick "Fritz" Schneider, age 87, of Alma, Wis , died Thursday, November 7 at the American Lutheran home, Mondovi, Wis. He was born on January 9, 1926, a son of the late Edward and Selma (Giese) Schneider. Fritz was united in marriage to Delores Leiberenz and to this union three children were born. Delores preceded Fritz in death on July 11, 2004. Fritz was employed at Dairyland Power and Buffalo County Highway Department before starting a 31 year career as a heavy machine operator for the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, retiring in 1986. Fritz enjoyed fishing, traveling with his family to their mobile home on the shores of Lake Superior and smoking fish. Fritz is survived by his children, Bruce of Reedstown, WI, John of Alma and Sheila (friend, Mike) Schneider of Durand; brother, Sam (LaVonne) of Winona and his sister, Phyllis Schneider of Alma. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 13 at 11:00 am at St. Paul and St. Luke's United Church of Christ, Alma with pastor Marcy Heil officiating. Enurnment will follow, with full military honors, at Alma public cemetery. Memorial gathering will be on Tuesday, November 12 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Talbot family funeral home, Alma chapel, and again at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to the service.
