Fred W. Linse, Sr. age 93 of Alma, WI passed away at Pepin Health and Rehabilitation Center in Pepin, WI on September 27, 2014. Fred was born on January 11, 1921 in the Town of Modena, WI to Alvin and Etta (Goeldner) Linse. He married Joyce Reinhardt on February 12, 1944. They were blessed with nine children. Fred worked as a milk hauler and did commercial fishing, also working on Banta’s Fishing Float in Alma. He most notably owned the Mobile Gas Station in Nelson, WI for several years. Fred was always known as a hard worker throughout his life. He was a longtime devoted member of St. John Lutheran Church in Alma. His favorite past time was gardening, especially sweet corn and raspberries. Fred loved spending time with all of his many grandchildren. He will be forever in the hearts of his children Diane (Jerry) Rau of Elk River, MN, Darlene (Delbert) Stair of Mindoro, WI, Jeanette (Robert) Thompson of Amery, WI, Kathy (Gary) Raabel of Stoddard, WI, Cheri (Michael) Tucker of Lake City, MN, Fred “Walt” Linse, Jr. of Alma, WI, Bill Linse of Snow Mass, CO., and Lori (Paul) Johnson of Hutchinson, MN. Also by his 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren with one more on the way. Fred was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Orville, Alvin, Wallace, Esther, and Wilma, and his infant son Alvin. A visitation and funeral service will be at St. John Lutheran Church in Alma on Friday October 3 at 9:30 AM with the service at 11:00 AM. Pastor Joel Bacon will officiate. Burial will follow at Alma Memorial Cemetery.
