Franklin Otto Huber, age 76, of rural Alma, WI died surrounded by his loving family on January 12, 2013 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, WI.
Frank was born on November 4, 1936 on the family farm near Tell to Reinhold and Lavina (Kurtzweg) Huber. He was a graduate of Alma High School and continued his education at Winona State. He then spent his lifetime on the farm. He was united in marriage to Marian Hartman on June 20, 1959, where together, they raised six sons.
While engaged in his lifelong love of farming, Frank was active in civic affairs, serving on the Alma Area School and Buffalo Electric Boards. He also continued his love of sports, playing city team baseball and basketball. He was an active and faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church, serving on the church council and participating on the dart ball team. Frank shared his love of music and dancing with his wife and many grandchildren through his playing of the concertina, which he started playing at the age of eight. He formed his own band and performed at many local events. In later years, Frank took his small band and played at many nursing homes. Frank will be sadly missed but his spirit will live on through all that knew him. He will be remembered as a soft spoken, gentle man, with a good sense of humor. Frank loved all, and all loved Frank.
