Florence Ann Youngbauer (Sonsalla) age 86, of Alma, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center in Wabasha. She was born on September 25, 1928 to John and Elsie (Loewenhagen) Loesel in the Town of Belvidere, Buffalo County, Wisconsin. She attended the little Bluebell School and was a graduate of the class of 1946 of the Alma High School. On July 2, 1946 she married Odell H. Youngbauer at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Alma; Odell preceded her in death in January 1986. On April 28, 1990 she married Stanley J. Sonsalla. He died in June 2004. Florence lived all her life in the Alma area. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, the PCCW, St. Rose Study Club, the Ladies Quilting Group and served as Lector, Eucharistic minister and Sacristan for the church. Florence also served on the Finance committee for St. Lawrence. She was also the secretary for the Alma High School Alumni Assoc. for several years, was an election official for the City of Alma and worked for the Buffalo County Food Pantry. Florence served as Treasurer for the Town of Belvidere for 10 years and was Buffalo Deputy Treasurer and Real Property Lister from 1974 until she retired in 1990. Florence enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed quilting for the Missions, reading and working on the computer. Florence is survived by and forever missed by her four sons, Dennis (Cheryl) Youngbauer and Curtis (Beverly) Youngbauer of Alma, Steven (Echo) Youngbauer of Cody, WY and Jeffrey (Lelisa) Youngbauer of Del Ray Beach, FL; two daughters, Laurel (Michael) Beatty of St. Petersburg FL and Sonya (Cary) Hansen of Alma; eight grandchildren, Jamie (Melissa) Youngbauer of Whitehall, WI, Robbie (Kira) Youngbauer of Big Spring, TX, Clifton (Amy) Youngbauer of La Crosse, WI, Farrah Green of Canada, Scott (Catherine) Youngbauer of Atlanta, GA and Lindsey Youngbauer of Nashville, TN, Kelly Hansen of Pinellas Park, FL and Brett (Ashley) Hansen of Eden Prairie, MN; nine great grandchildren, Jacob, Abby, Mollie, Noah, Olivia, Norah, William, Alyssa, Alaina Youngbauer and Ella Goodwin; sister Verlaine (Julius) Averbeck of Waumandee, WI, one brother in law, Earl Ruff of Alma; also by many nieces, nephews and by many family members of Stanley. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, one great grandson and five sisters, Lila Iberg, Edna Smith, Eileen Denison, Mabel Mueller, Dorothy Ruff and one brother Levi Loesel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday June 6, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Alma, with Father Brian J. Jazdzewski as celebrant. Burial will follow at Alma Memorial Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the hour of the Mass.
