Evelyn Dorothy Graettinger, age 98 of Cochrane, Wis died Monday September 9, 2013 at Pepin Manor, Pepin, Wis. She was born on November 24, 1915 to John and Lily (Grable) Jantz in Sherry, Wis... Evelyn attended and graduated from Auburndale High school in 1933. She was united in marriage to Joseph Graettinger on November 12, 1935 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Marshfield, WI, and to this union they were blessed with two children. Evelyn and Joseph farmed in the Marshfield area, and Evelyn also worked at the Johnson Garment Factory. In 1970 they moved their family to Cochrane, WI and purchased and ran the hardware store. To this day the Graettinger Hardware store is still an eminent business in down town Cochrane. Evelyn was a long time parishioner of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Alma. Her carefree passions were quilting, gardening, and she was known for her yummy apple pies. Evelyn will be dearly missed by her son Dick(Annette) Graettinger of Cochrane, her daughter Grace (Norm) Radtke of Riverfalls, WI; her grandchildren Scott Graettinger, Jeff Graettinger, Garett (Debbie) Graettinger, Linda Radtke, Greg (Michelle) Radtke, Kristen (James) Bird; great grandchildren Austyn, Hope, Joe, Mike, and Jon. Also by her sister in laws Anita Jantz and Geraldine Wry. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joseph, her sisters Viola, Vivian, Grace; her brothers Clifford, Verlyn, and Rocky. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Alma, WI on Wednesday September 11 at 10:30AM with an hour of visitation prior. Burial will follow at Hillside Catholic Cemetery, Marshfield, WI. Talbot Family Funeral Homes, Cochrane-Alma assisted the family with arrangements.
