Elvina I. Swenson, age 92 of Mondovi, died on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at the American Lutheran Home, Mondovi. She was born on September 15, 1924 in Osseo, the daughter of Esten and Inga (Mhyre) Estenson. Elvina graduated from Osseo High School. She later married Roger Swenson on November 15, 1943. After Roger and Elvina were married, they moved to San Antonio, Texas where Roger was stationed during the war. Once Roger was honorable discharged from the military, they moved back up to Wisconsin and resided in Black River Falls before moving to their permanent address of Mondovi. Elvina was a devoted and active member of Central Lutheran Church.
Elvina was kind, patient and generous. She enjoyed spending time with the other residents at the Lutheran Home, chatting and visiting with as many as she could. Elvina was a very caring person, and faith and family were most important to her.
Elvina will be sadly missed by her grandson, Eric (Andrea) Swenson and their son, Guy all of Hayward; daughter-in-law, Janice Swenson of Lookout; brothers, Wallace (Velda) Swenson and Alan (Faye) Swenson; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger; son, Paul and brothers, Earl and Arnold.
A memorial service will be held at Talbot Family Funeral Homes - Mondovi Chapel on Monday, June 26, 2017 at 11:00 am with Pastor Rolf Morck of Central Lutheran Church officiating. Burial to immediately follow at Riverside Lutheran Church. A memorial gathering will be at the funeral home from 9:00 am until the hour of the service.
