Eleanor T. Olson, age 88 of Mondovi, WI passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 25, 2012 at Hillview Assisted Living in Mondovi.
Eleanor, a daughter of Thomas and Ella (Gunderson) Sie was born on the family homestead, on September 26, 1923.
Eleanor attended Mondovi High School and graduated with the class of 1941.
On May 10, 1942, Eleanor was united in marriage to Marvin Olson at Naples Lutheran church parsonage. To this loving union, four children were born. Marvin preceded Eleanor in death on March 21, 2004.
Eleanor held employment at several different businesses in Mondovi, but mostly she worked side by side with her husband on their dairy farm in the Town of Naples.
Eleanor was a faithful and devoted member of Central Lutheran Church in Mondovi, actively serving on the Ladies Circle.
Eleanor and her husband enjoyed spending time cruising the area in their convertible, but what they enjoyed more than anything was time together dancing . Eleanor will be remembered for her love of family and the time she was able to spend with them. She was a lovely lady with a heart full of giving.
Eleanor will be sadly missed by her four children Karen (Ben) Thompson of Fountain City, John (Maxine) Olson of Mondovi, Dennis (Bernadette) Olson of Mondovi, and Lynn (special friend, Linda) Olson of Sun Prairie, WI. Nine grandchildren, Tamara, Kathy (Eric), Jeff, Mike, Heath (Sarah), Nathan, Jay (Renee), Amanda and Megan; twelve great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson; one sister, Hilma Munson of Mondovi, two brothers, Arnold (Doris) Sie of Mondovi and Bernard (Barb) Sie of Lake Geneva, WI; also by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents and husband Marvin, one sister, Clarina Weber and three brothers, Orlie, Milo Sie and Roger Sie at infancy and sister in law Arleen Anderson preceded Eleanor in death.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 30 at 11:00 AM at Central Lutheran Church in Mondovi with Pastor Rolf Morck officiating. Burial will follow at Naples Cemetery. A time of visitation and support for Eleanor’s family will be held at the Poeschel-Talbot Funeral Home on Sunday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and at the church on Monday one hour prior to the service.
