Eldora S. Christianson

Eldora S. Christianson, age 93, of Mondovi passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 8, 2016 at the Mayo Health Systems, Eau Claire. She was born on April 1, 1923 on Easter Sunday to Sever and Ella (Haugen) Holten. Eldora attended the Norden Grade School and graduated from Mondovi High School. She married Glen Christianson on November 30, 1941 at the Norden Lutheran Church. They were able to share 66 years together before Glen's death on March 31, 2008. She and Glen farmed in the Eleva area. Eldora helped quite a bit in the garden as well. Later she worked at a restaurant in Strum and Eleva until they moved to Mondovi. Eldora then worked at Ben Franklin for many years. She was baptized and confirmed at Norden Trinity Lutheran Church and has been a lifetime member. Eldora was active in the Ladies aid and also held many offices at the church. She made the best donuts and lefse. Eldora enjoyed feeding people, especially her comfort foods like meatballs, mashed potatoes and gravy. She took pride in her home and always kept it immaculate. Eldora's true enjoyment was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter. She will be sadly missed by her children, Gloria (Garry) Russell, Stanley Christianson and Bonnie Oesau; grandchildren, Darren (Sherri), Eric (Doreen), Corey (Lucy), Christina Oesau and Chloe Oesau; great-grandchildren, Saige, Lauren, Madeline, Hayden, Nick, and Ayla Russell; Great great-granddaughter, Adeline Russell; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and brother, Kenneth. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 13, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church of Norden at 11:00 am with Pastor Kermit Solem officiating. Burial will take place at the church cemetery. A visitation will be held at Talbot Family Funeral Homes - Mondovi Chapel on Thursday, May 12, 2016 from 4:00-7:00 pm and then again at church from 10:00 am until the time of service.
