Elaine E. Flury, age 80 of Hudson formerly of Cochrane, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at Deerfield Gables in New Richmond. She was born on October 23, 1938 in Rollingstone, MN, the daughter of Christ and Emma (Pieper) Roffler. Elaine married Ron Flury on August 2, 1958 and to this union four children were born. She graduated from Winona Senior High School and then from Winona State University with a degree in Elementary and Secondary Education and Masters in Special Education. She established an alternative High School in Wabasha, MN where she was both the administrator and teacher. Elaine was involved in the Homemakers Club in Buffalo County and served as the president. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Cochrane were she taught Sunday School and was a member of the ladies aid. As a teacher, Elaine took pride in knowing that she was able to mentor numerous students and helped enrich their lives. Her true treasure was her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchild.
Elaine will be sadly missed by her husband of 60 years, Ron; children, Steve (significant other, Paula), Kate (Jeff) Haas, Nancy (Eric) Anton and Keith; grandchildren, Josh (significant other, Kendra) Flury, Jeremy (Ashley) Flury, Justin Allen, Brianna Allen (significant other, Blake), Ashley Flury, Alexis Flury, Reese Anton, Tony (Kristina) Haas and Katie (Sam) Lehmann; great-grandchild, Corbin Flury; siblings, Evangeline (Don) Thaldorf, Christ (Ruth) Roffler and Diane Roffler; nieces and nephews; other relatives and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Barbara Padgett and Delores Roffler and brothers, Richard, Roger and Michael Roffler.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Christ Lutheran Church, Cochrane at 11:00 am with Pastor Mark Wilde officiating. Burial to immediately follow at Buffalo City Cemetery. A visitation will be held at Talbot Family Funeral Homes, Alma Chapel on Monday, April 22, 201 9 from 4:00-7:00 pm and then again at church on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
