Eileen C. (Baecker) Mueller age 94 of Alma, WI died February 15, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center in Wabasha, MN. Eileen was born April 1, 1918 in the township of Montana, WI to Philip and Elizabeth (Boland) Baecker. Eileen attended the little country schoolhouse in the Town of Montana until 8th grade. Later her parents moved the family to Alma where Eileen started working at the A.M.P.I. as a bookkeeper and later as a lab technician. Eileen was very proud when she obtained a cheese maker’s license. On July 20, 1963 she married Andrew Mueller at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Alma. Andrew brought his daughter Nona to this union. Eileen remained a long time member of the church, also belonging to the St. Rose Study Club. She was a member of the American Legion Auxilary Alma Post 224 holding a past position as president.
She spent her fun time bowling on leagues in both Cochrane and Wabasha, often going to tournaments. Eileen loved to cook and entertain. Her notoriety was her caramels she made for any occasion, and her delicious apple pies.
Eileen was first and foremost known as being “Aunty” to most everyone. Although she had no children of her own, she certainly was the matriarch of her family. She took great pride in all of her nieces and nephew’s accomplishments. Eileen had an open heart to all that knew her.
She will be greatly missed by her brother Gerald (Betty) Baecker, her grandson Anthony (Lita) Zerbe, and her granddaughter Traci Zerbe, her great grandchildren Malaya, Jeremy, Tasha, and Tiara. Also by her sister in laws Marlene Baecker, Marlet Baecker, and Marvilla Zittel and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Andrew, his daughter Nona Zerbe, sisters Richardine, Elizabeth “Girlie”; brothers Philip, Edward, Andrew, Walter, David, LaVerne, and Jerome.
