Edna Martha Fluekiger

Edna Martha Fluekiger, age 99, of Alma, Wis. Passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 28, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Wabasha. She was born on January 20, 1914 in Gilmanton, WI a daughter of Robert and Isabelle (Brixon) Steinke. On September 23, 1939, Edna was united in marriage to Harry Fluekiger in Mondovi, WI. To this union, one son, Lee was born. Harry preceded Edna in death on April 24, 2003. Edna was a long time and faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Gilmanton, active in the Ladies aide. Edna enjoyed quilting, sewing and fishing the Mississippi river. But Most of all, in her later years, it was spending time with her family, especially her precious great grandchildren that meant the most to her. Edna will be sadly missed by her son and daughter in law, Lee and Dorene Fluekiger of Alma; grandchildren, Jarred (Laura) Fluekiger of Alma, Chris (Nicole) Fluekiger of Mondovi, Terry Fluekiger of Alma, Dylan (Kim) Fluekiger of Alma, Katie (Justin) Fluekiger of Eau Claire, Mitch (Jamie) Burt and Misty (Robert) Hoover; great grandchildren, Austin, Jordan, Emily, Elizabeth, Tyra, Avery, Adam, Ella, James, Remilyn, Austin, Kyle, Zylher, Brandon and Evah. She will be also missed by her sister Ruth Mueller of Alma, and her faithful Yorkie, Sassy. Besides her parents, Edna was preceded in death by one brother, Arnold, two sisters, Doris (Vilas) Herold and Irene and her brother in law, Elwood “Bud” Mueller. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 4 at 2:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Gilmanton with Pastor Paul Woebbeking officiating. Burial will be at the Alma Public Cemetery at a later date. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 3 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Alma Chapel and again from 1:00 PM until the hour of the service at the church.
