Earl Emil Sylvester Heck, age 90, of Mondovi, was called home to Heaven on Sunday, May 21, 2017 and is safe in the arms of Jesus. He was born on October 16, 1926 in German Valley, Pepin County, Wisconsin to the late Paul K. and Ottilie (Roetter) Heck. Earl attended and graduated from Mondovi High School.
He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Military, being drafted into the U.S. Army attached to the Air Force, serving in the Korean War.
On September 23, 1956, Earl was united in Holy Matrimony to Ruth Elenore Elbert at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bearsgrass in rural Augusta, WI. Growing up on a farm, Earl continued working tirelessly on his dairy farm, and persisted in it until his mid 80s. He was a man of faith in Christ Jesus and was devoted to his church, Zion Lutheran Church, Mondovi. Earl was a man of integrity. He was not afraid of working hard and passed those values down to his family.
Earl is survived by his children, Judy Heck, Paul Heck, Karl (Audrey) Heck, and Tom (Joanne) Heck; five grandchildren, Rachel, Catherine, Joshua, Spencer and Angelina; brothers, Marvin (Marjorie) Heck and Leroy Heck; also by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruth and brother, Armin Heck.
A funeral service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, Mondovi on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Paul Woebbeking officiating. Burial to immediately follow in Oak Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 11:00 am until the time of the service.
