Dorothy Jean Hartman, age 75 of Holmen, WI, formerly of Alma, WI passed away Sunday February 23, 2014 following a courageous battle with cancer. Dorothy was born April 25, 1938 in Canandaigua, NY to Francis and Anna (Didas) Kuhn. Dorothy attended and graduated from Brockport High School in Brockport, NY. On July 5, 1958 Dorothy married Robert Hartman in Tampa, FL, while he was serving in the U.S. Air Force. To this union they were blessed with five children. They soon moved back to Robert’s home town of Alma, WI where Dorothy owned and operated Hartman’s Clothing and Variety for 20 years and later worked as a clerk at the Alma Drug Store. Even though she was dedicated to her jobs, her family was her true devotion. After retirement Bob and Dorothy moved back to Florida for nearly 20 years, where Dorothy enjoyed the warm weather and activities. It was only until Dorothy’s health started to diminish that they moved back to Wisconsin to be close to family. Dorothy’s many passions included playing piano, playing cards, sewing, and quilting, but most of all spending and cherishing the time with her children and grandchildren. Dorothy will be greatly missed by her husband Bob, her children Mark (Mary) Hartman, Carol (Carl) Roberts, Julie (Tom)Roubik, Mike (Deb) Hartman, and Patty Hartman. Her grandchildren Samantha Hartman, Mitchell Hartman, Justin (Alicia) Roberts, Trevor (Heather) Roberts, Amanda (Fiancée-Bryce) Roubik, Melanie Roubik, Zach (Kayla) Hartman, Rachael (Derek) Bratager, Gracie Hartman, Riley Hartman, and Jacob Hartman. Her great grandchildren Madilyn Roberts, Lilliana Roberts, and James Roberts. Her siblings Leo (Ruth Anne) Kuhn, Carol Grove, Donald (Bonnie) Kuhn, and Tom Kuhn. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister Barb Maher. A funeral service and visitation will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Alma on Thursday February 27 at 9:30AM until the time of service at 11:00AM.
