Donald M. “Don” Hildebrand, of Waumandee, WI, age 67, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on September 20, 1948 in Oakland, CA, the son of Kenneth and Patricia (Morrison) Minor. Don served 6 years in the US Navy as a Nuclear Submarine Specialist. After serving his country, he worked as an Engineer, designing machines in the Pulp & Paper industry with extensive global travel. Family traditions were very important to Don. He was an integral part in the 4th of July celebrations in Waumandee, providing the music and enjoyed producing family videos at Christmas time. Don took great pride in tending to his immaculate lawn, enjoyed the family cabin, boating and fishing. He was a kind, loving man who will be forever remembered by family and close friends.
Don is survived by his wife, Mary Hildebrand; children, Jay (Vanessa) Hildebrand, Katie (Erik) Riegel and Jonathan (Maria) Wineski; grandbabies, Harper, Griffin and Aamon; brothers, Gerald “GW” (Dana) Hildebrand and Art (Jo) Minor; three sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; nieces; nephews; much loved other relatives and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother; step-father and sister.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Boniface Catholic Church, in Waumandee, on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at 11:00 am with Father Brian Jazdzewski with a memorial gathering beginning at 9:00 am. Burial will be held in the parish cemetery.
The family has requested memorial donations be made to St. Boniface Catholic Church.
