Diane K. Halgren, age 73, of Buffalo City WI, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on April 27th. Diane was born to the late Melvin and Iona (Carlon) Miller on Feb. 14, 1950 in Waterloo IA. She was united in marriage to the late Gary B. Halgren Feb. 14, 1970. To this union they were blessed with 2 children Kim Halgren and Kevin (Traci Smith) Halgren, 2 grandchildren Gage Rhyner and Gabriella Halgren, and 2 step grandchildren Vanessa and Aubrey Smith. She loved playing with her pets and sitting on the deck watching her hummingbirds. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family. It saddens our heart to say goodbye to this wonderful caring mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Diane graduated from East High School in 1968. She went to cosmetology school and was a hairdresser then went on to work for Alstad and Langlas bakery in Waterloo until 1983. On April 19th, 1985 the family moved to Buffalo City, WI where they resided to this day. She then became a CNA. Diane spent a good part of her career as a caregiver for the elderly. She worked for various places like Home and Community Health Options, Gundersen, Gemini, Cochrane Lutheran Home, and Iris.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents Melvin and Iona Miller, husband Gary, infant daughter Tamera, sister Peggy Heideman, brother Gary Miller. mother-in-law Mildred Halgren, brother-in-law Stuart Halgren, brother-in-law Robert Schreiber, nephew Donald Schreiber, and niece Cindy Watkins.
A celebration of Life will be held at Talbot Funeral Home in Cochrane, WI on May 21, 2023 at 2:00PM until the time of service at 3:00PM with Pastor Mark Wilde. Burial will be at Gardens of Memories Cemetery in Waterloo, Iowa at a later date. www.talbotfuneralhomes.com
