Dennis Marvin "Tangle" Loewenhagen

Dennis Marvin "Tangle" Loewenhagen, age 70, of Alma, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. 

He was born in Wabasha on February 7, 1955 to the late Marvin C. and Leila L. (Kimmel) Loewenhagen. Dennis attended Alma Area Schools, graduating with the Alma High School Class of 1973. During and after high school, Dennis worked at Bob Hanson’s marine and small engine repair. 

On April 23, 1983, Dennis was united in marriage to Kathleen Larson at St. John Lutheran Church in Durand. To this union, three children were born. Kathleen preceded Dennis in death on February 23, 2017. 

Dennis was a longtime employee of Federal Mogul in Lake City, MN, retiring in July of 2017. 

He was a life member of the Alma Rod and Gun Club and National Wild Turkey Federation. Dennis will be remembered for his love of the outdoors spending time hunting, fishing, trapping, searching for wild ginseng or making maple syrup. He enjoyed taking his dogs duck and raccoon hunting. One of Dennis’ most treasured moments were the days of watching his children excel at sports. 

Dennis is survived by his children, Darrin (Becky) Loewenhagen of Durand, Mackenzie (Brett) Wenger of Argyle and Shelley (Tyler) Place of Mondovi; 4 precious grandchildren, Mia, Madison and Luka Loewenhagen and Ross Place; siblings, Curtis (Barbara) Loewenhagen, Janet (David) Baum and Calvin Loewenhagen; also by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

Besides his parents and beloved wife, Kathleen, Dennis was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Loewenhagen and sister in law, Penny Loewenhagen. 

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Alma Chapel. Burial will follow at Alma Memorial Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service all at the funeral home.
