Delores Mae Reidt

Delores Mae Reidt, age 82, of Alma, passed away suddenly on Friday, November 09, 2012 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester with her devoted family at her side. She was born on June 6, 1930 in Ruff family homestead on the Alma Bluff a daughter of Emil and Mary (Eberle) Ruff. Delores attended and graduated from Alma High School. On October 15, 1949, Delores was united in marriage to Ulrich Reidt, Jr. at the Ruff family farm in Alma. To this union five children were born. Ulrich preceded Delores in death on April 30, 2000. Delores and her husband purchased the Tell Bar in rural Alma. Together they worked side by side for over 40 years. Not only did they own the bar, but they also worked together milking cows and raising beef cattle. Delores could still be found helping her son at the bar by either prepping food or traveling for supplies. She was very giving of her time and efforts and would volunteer at the concession stand in Gilmanton. Delores was a long-time faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church in Cream up until the last day of dedication before closing. She had just become a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Gilmanton. In her earlier years, Delores and her husband enjoyed traveling to many different out of town destinations. Recently, driving around the countryside in her truck gave her enjoyment. Delores will be remembered for her hospitality and her extremely giving heart. If there was a function, a party, a family get-together or you just stopped in to say hi, she was a provider. Delores was a lady with a special place in her heart for her entire family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren for whom she would do or go anywhere for. Delores will be sadly missed by her children, Wayne (Barb) of Alma, Connie (Ronald) Hovey of Gilmanton, Bryan (Debbie) of Gilmanton, Sam (Lori) of Alma and Candis (Gordy) Sessions of Elk Mound; 16 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; one brother, Earl Ruff of Alma; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Besides her parents and husband, Ulrich, two sisters, Dorothy Ottinger and Selina Zeichert; three brothers, Herbert, Harvey and Gaylord preceded Delores in death. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 14 at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, rural Gilmanton with Pastor David Bangert officiating.
