Delores I. Noll, of Wabasha, formerly of Alma affectionately known as “Diz” to some, passed away at the age 89, at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center, Wabasha.
She was born on June 29, 1928 in the Town of Nelson, WI a daughter of the late Frank and Catherine (Thoeny) Zirzow.
Delores attended and graduated from Alma High School.
On April 30, 1949 Delores was united in marriage to William “Bill” Noll at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Alma. To this union four children were born, Bruce, Kathryn, Patrick and Daniel. Bill preceded Delores in death on September 1, 1997.
Delores’ first job was working with Dr. Max Bachhuber, Sr. In the early 1950’s, Delores and her husband moved to the Alma bluff and began farming where Delores found love in being a wife and mother to Bill and her children.
After selling the farm in 1967, they moved to Alma where she began waitressing at Kauth Café then later at the Alma Locker Plant and finished her working career as the first manager when Kwik Trip came to Alma, retiring 1993.
Delores was a longtime and faithful Parishioner of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, active in the PCCW and the quilting group.
Delores will be remembered for her wonderful cooking, baking, cake decorating. One of the greatest memories that Delores leaves is to always having delicious homemade treats for all her family and friends.
Delores is survived and forever remembered by her children, Bruce (Stacy) of New Richmond, WI, Kathryn (Jim) Ruff of Alma and Dan (Deb) of Nelson; daughter in law, Denise of Eau Claire; grandchildren, Ryan (Shannon) Noll, Justin (Angie) Noll, Bridget (Trent) Gander, Brandon (Katie) Ruff, Courtney (Matt) Stanzil, Wil (Sarah) Noll, Katie (James) Dierauer and Jason Noll; 17 great grandchildren and one on the way; one sister, Eleanor Herold of Rochester, MN; brother in law, Andy (Jane) Noll; also by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents and loving husband Bill, Delores was preceded in death by her sisters, Gertrude, Edna, Ella, Wilma, Evelyn and Mabel; two brothers, Melvin and Oscar; and by her beloved son, Pat.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Alma with Father Brian Jazdzewski as celebrant. Burial will follow at Alma Memorial Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Alma from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM where a Rosary service will be offered. Visitation will also be held on Friday from 9:30 AM until the hour of the Mass at the church.
