Delma M Mahlman of Alma passed away on February 7, 2024. She was born in Parker's Prairie, Minnesota on May 6, 1929 to the late Erwin and Lydia Karrow. Shortly after, the family moved to Fountain City and then to Alma. Delma attended schools in Alma and later was devotedly married to Wesley Mahlman for over 70 years until his death in 2019. Together they raised two daughters on the Alma Bluff.
Delma worked for many years in the Alma Creamery office, followed by many more years working in Alma banks. She liked to sew, crochet, make quilts, garden, travel, teach children's Sunday School, and participate in church activities. Mostly she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Delma loved God, her family and pretty much everyone she met. She thrived on connections with people, whether at church, at work, while boating, snowmobiling, playing cards or hosting dinners. In her later years, she continued those connections by sending volumes of cards and making phone calls.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Inez Thoeny and Janice Thompson, brothers-in-law, Erwin (Butch) Mahlman, Richard (Leo) Mahlman, Felix Mahlman, Walter Fluekiger, George Hall, Joseph Weber, Olgar Thompson and Rodney Thoeny and sisters-in-law, Antonia Hubenthal and Rose Wahlberger.
Delma will be greatly missed by her daughters, Judith Hager and Jeanne (Charles) DeVoe, sisters, Avis Fluekiger, Evelyn Hall and Mary Weber, grandchildren, Patricia (Ron) Wall, Peggy (Robert) George, Ron Hager (Joan Rausher), Teresa Devoe (Eric Menhart), Connie (Scot) Reinwand and Cheryl DeVoe, 14 great grandchildren and 11 great, great grandchildren.
