Delbert D. Earney, age 68, of Durand passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2016 at The Heritage of Elmwood, Elmwood, WI. He was born on April 10, 1948 in Wabasha, MN, the son of LaVerne and Florence (Fink) Earney. Delbert attended Eau Claire Technical College for Machining. He was most proud working for Madison Silo Company building concrete silos throughout the Midwest. Delbert served as a laborer on a number of local dairy farms in the area. He also helped Lester Mueller with his business, but most importantly helped his parents on their farm. Delbert enjoyed antique tractors and outdoor activities. He loved visiting with people and especially enjoyed his family. Delbert was gentle, generous and humble.
Delbert is survived by his companion, Rose Fike of Durand; siblings, Charles of Wilmington, NC, David (Pam) of Alma, Alice (Dan) Helgeson of Chippewa Falls and Paul (Cheryl) of Lakeland Shores, MN; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Virginia.
A funeral service will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, on Friday, July 8, 2016 at 7:00 pm with Deacon Edward Wendt presiding. A visitation will begin at 6:00 pm at the church until the time of service. Private family burial will be held at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery.
