David M. Rosenthal, age 69, of Sturtevant, WI, formerly of Mondovi, passed away on Thursday, August 22nd at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Hospital in Racine, WI.
He was born on September 2, 1943 in Eau Claire, a son of Henry W. and Ione (Mickelson) Rosenthal. David was a baptized and confirmed member of Central Lutheran Church, Mondovi.
David attended Mondovi schools, graduating from the Mondovi High School with the class of 1961. David, soon after, honorably served his country as a member of the United States Air Force.
On October 10, 1987, David was united in marriage to Sara Osinga in Racine.
In 1963, David moved to Racine where he started his employment with the Hamilton Beach Corporation, following the relocation of Hamilton Beach, David then began a career with Bosch Fluid Power, working there for over 30 years until his retirement in 2003 as a CNC machinist. After his retirement, David and Sara enjoyed fishing, especially for muskies in the northern lakes of Wisconsin, and was very proud to have traveled abroad to both Spain and Italy. Dave was a hard worker, and enjoyed gardening, manicuring his lawn, projects around the house, and woodworking.
David will be sadly missed by his brother, Allen of Maple Grove, MN; two sisters, Julie (Barry) Bloom of Menomonie and Mary (Dale) Larson of Eleva; his best friend, Sara; Sara's aunt, Rose Wiencek; also by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, especially the Duane and Rose Segerstrom family who over the years, he thought of as his own.
Besides his parents, David was preceded in death by best friend, Jake Riley.
A visitation will be Talbot Family Funeral Homes in Mondovi on Tuesday August 27 at 3:00PM until the time of service at 4:00PM with Gary Preston officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Lutheran Cemetery in Mondovi. In lieu of flowers, David’s family would appreciate memorials to the Boys Town (boystown.org) or Central Lutheran Church, Mondovi, WI. A time of fellowship for Racine friends will be at Annetta's Café at 8020 Durand Ave., Sturtevant, WI on Thursday, August 29th at 9:00 AM.
