David Frank Peterson, age 66 of the Town of Dover, Buffalo County, WI passed away on Wednesday October 1, 2014 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on June 23, 1948 in Mondovi to Lyman and Odile (Baker) Peterson.
Dave attended Gilmanton Schools, graduating with the Gilmanton High School class of 1966.
Later that year, on November 12, 1966 Dave was united in marriage to Carol Jean Winsand at the Lookout Lutheran Church, Lookout, WI. To this union, two daughters were born.
Dave worked at both the Mondovi Lumber Yard and National Presto in Eau Claire before starting a career that spanned 38 years at the Co-op Equity which is now known as Countryside Co-op.
Dave’s greatest love was his entire family and this will be the memory that will last in their hearts forever. Dave enjoyed the outdoors and nature, working in his yard and flower gardens. He also could be found tinkering in his garage or making a woodworking creation. Dave enjoyed many years of softball in his early years and cooking special meals for his family.
Dave will be sadly missed by his wife of the past 47 years, Carol of Lookout; two daughters Lori (Randy) Glaunert and Karen (Mike) Waters both of Independence; his grandchildren, Casey (Brett) Serum, Shane (special friend, Michaela) Larson, Samantha Glaunert; Kayla (special friend, Aaron) Thompson, Kelsey (special friend, Jerad) Thompson and Derek Thompson; his siblings, Lyla (Chuck) Endle, Ronald (Sandy) Peterson, Lois (Sid) Semingson, Bill (Linda) Peterson and Lorn (Terry) Peterson; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, and lastly, by his precious companion, Abby, his beagle.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, David Steiner.
Funeral services will be held on Monday October 6 at 1:00 PM at Lookout Lutheran Church with burial to follow at the church cemetery. A time of visitation and support for Dave’s family will be held on Sunday, October 5 at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Mondovi Chapel from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again at the church on Monday one hour prior to the service.
