Dale E. Bloom, age 85 of Gilmanton, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 3,2020, at the American Lutheran Home in Mondovi. He was born on May 10,1935 in Modena. He was the 5th of 15 children born to Robert and Bessie (Walton) Bloom, Sr. He married Colleen Hulke on August 1,1953, at The Chapel in Mondovi. To this union, seven children were born. After their marriage they farmed in Gilmanton. In 1953 they moved to Janesville; Dale worked for the GM Plant and Furniture Store there. The family moved back to Gilmanton a few years later and began farming again. They bought the home farm in 1981. In his younger years Dale enjoyed playing horseshoes; he loved listening and dancing to old time polka music, playing cards & dice games and putting puzzles together. He enjoyed attending sporting events for his kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was also an avid Wisconsin Badgers, Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Bucks fan. Dale is survived by his loving wife, Colleen and six children; Sharon (Jack) Boyd; Shirley Tillman; Kay (Richard) Halopka; Ricky (Lori) Bloom; Connie (Jack) Werlein and Ronnie (Lisa) Bloom; Special Grandson Jesse (Susie) Bloom; Grandchildren, Russell, Jr. and Staci Tillman; Brad (Tami) Klevgard and Kaci (Eric) Kroeplin; Alexis (Dan Mooney) Bloom and Morgan (Brady) Nelson; Jared (Paige Cooke) Werlein and Joe Werlein; Taylor (Cade Martin) Bloom and Jordyn (Deric Gray) Bloom; Great-grandchildren, Nicholas Light; Cali Flick, Keannah, Aubriannah and Brantley Bloom; Dylan, Cole, Caden and Gavin Klevgard; Phoenix and Lily Waller, Skye and Zach Kroeplin; Harper Nelson; Step- grandchildren Jerry (Amber) Halopka & their 3 children and Katie (Linda) Halopka/lvery & their 2 children; Siblings, Bob, Nelda, Bev, Judy, Arlene, Darrell, Dan, Mary Lou and Brenda. He was preceded in death by his son, Dale, Jr.; son-in-law, Russell Tillman and siblings Karen, Gary, Warren, Irene and Lyle. Dale was a loving husband, great dad and grandpa; he will be dearly missed by all who knew him. At Dale's request, there wilt be no funeral services; a Private Burial willbe held at Riverside Cemetery on Saturday, July 11, followed by a Celebration of Life at 1 pm for family and friends at the home farm in Gilmanton. Talbot Family Funeral Home/Scenic Rivers Cremation Center is assisting the family with arrangements.
