Connie Marie Holubar, 60, of Pepin, WI passed away on March 1, 2016 at the University of Minnesota Hospital of heart failure. Connie was a fighter and won many health battles in her life. Her heart just wasn’t strong enough for this fight.
Connie was born on December 17, 1955 to Eileen Gross in Winona, MN. She married Robert “Bob” Holubar on April 2, 1976. She became a proud mom to Sara and Nicholas and later a proud Gramma to four grandchildren, with another on the way. Connie lived in Minneapolis, MN until she and Bob relocated to Buffalo City in 1995 and later Pepin in 2009. Bob preceded Connie in death on January 11, 2014.
Connie loved being a mom and a gramma. She loved watching old black & white movies. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Nelson Meal Site and driving the senior bus.
Connie will be sadly missed by her children Sara (Forrest) of Rockford, MN and Nicholas (Ginger) of Hopkins, MN. She will also dearly missed by her precious grandchildren Keeley (22), Brannon (18), Devin (16), and Ainsley (1) and a little one on the way; her mom Eileen Curtis, her sisters Debra Curtis both of Brooklyn Center, MN and Laurie White. She also leaves behind a large family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Her list of friends is long and includes her life-long friend Deby.
Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Bob and her step-dad, Warren “Hoodie” Curtis.
A celebration of life will be held at the Talbot Family Funeral Home in Alma, WI on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 11:00am with a memorial gathering one hour prior. Burial will follow at Alma Public Cemetery.
Connie’s family would like to extend thank you to the heart team and ICU staff at the University of Minnesota Hospital for their care and compassion in Connie’s final days.
