Charles M Krueger

Charles M. “Charlie” Krueger, Sr., age 78, of rural Fountain City died unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 14, 2018. He was born on September 28, 1939 on the family farm in the Town of Montana, the son of the late Lester and Rose (Allemann) Krueger. Charlie attended and graduated from the Cochrane High School with the class of 1957. Charlie honorably served in the Red Arrow Division of the Wisconsin National Guard. On July 2, 1966, Charlie was united in marriage to Cassandra Stevens at the Tamarack Lutheran Church in rural Arcadia. To this union, seven children were born. Charlie was a farmer for his entire life, on the farm where he was born and raised. He was very proud to know that the farm is still in the family. Throughout his life he was actively involved in 4-H, the C-FC FFA Alumni, Buffalo County Fair Board and the C-FC School Board. In his later years, Charlie enjoyed gardening and bird watching. Charlie will be sadly missed by his wife of 51 years, Sandy; five children, Leslie (Tim) Lazarcik of rural Arcadia, Marty (Chris) Krueger of the Town of Montana, Brad (Tracy) Krueger of Trempealeau, Valarie (Brian Olson) Rothering of Onalaska and Ryan Krueger of Los Angeles, CA; 13 grandchildren; and one great granddaughter. He is also survived by two sisters, Shirley Rosenow of Chippewa Falls and JoAnn (Bruce) Schaffner of rural Waumandee; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his infant twin daughters; sister and brother in law, Marlet (Gabby) Baecker and brother in law, Henry Rosenow. A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Trempealeau United Methodist Church, with Pastor Mary Beth Scow officiating. A memorial gathering will be on Sunday, February 18 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and again on Monday from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service. Memorials in Charlie’s honor can be made to the C-FC FFA Alumni.
