Charlene C. Bauer

Charlene C. Bauer, age 73, of Mondovi, formerly of Alma and the Town of Modena, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Mayo Health System, Eau Claire. She was born on August 21, 1943 in the Town of Modena, Buffalo County, WI to the late Oscar and Esther (Linse) Sterry. Charlene attended several different schools throughout Buffalo County before she attended and graduated from the Alma Area High School. On July 28, 1966 Charlene was united in marriage to Bruce A. Bauer at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mondovi. Charlene graduated on a Friday and immediately that next Monday began a 32 year career at Buffalo Electric Cooperative, now known as Riverland Energy. She enjoyed baking, sewing or going shopping. Towards the end, when her health limited her abilities, she and her husband enjoyed time spent together driving and taking in the scenery. Charlene will be sadly missed by her husband, Bruce of Nelson; sister, Mavis Malinoski of Alma; brother in law, David (Laurie) Bauer of Nelson; also by nieces, nephews and friends Besides her parents, Charlene was preceded in death by her brother and sister in law, Allen and Kathleen Sterry and brother in law, Louis Malinoski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 11:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mondovi. Burial will be at the Alma Memorial Cemetery, Alma, WI. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 17 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Talbot Family funeral Home, Alma Chapel and again on Saturday at the church one hour prior to the Mass.
