She was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church until its closing in 2012. She then joined Christ Lutheran at Cochrane. She was active in the Zion Ladies Aid, serving all offices at one time or another. She was also a member of Christ Lutheran Ladies Aid. Carol was also an active participant in her community as a member of the Lincoln Homemakers, Buffalo County Homemakers, and the Alma-Nelson Garden Club. She also volunteered at the Alma Nutrition site, Alma Food Pantry, and the Alma School, until her diminished eyesight, due to macular degeneration, forced her to quit these endeavors.
