Carol Jean Carothers

Carol J. (Prissel) Carothers, age 78, of Durand passed away at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire, WI, on Wednesday, July 12, 2023.  Carol was born on December 31, 1944, and grew up in the Durand/Mondovi area.  Carol married Larry R. Carothers on July 21, 1962, and had two sons. Carol and Larry moved to the Racine area for over 39 years, working, raising their two boys and spending time…..    After retirement, they returned to Durand.

Carol will be sadley missed by her sons Terry Richard Carothers, New London, and Timothy Alan Carothers, New London;  grandchildren, Matthew, Kenneth, Benjamin, Faith and Emily and their families; as well as Carol and Larry’s extended family members and friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Larry; parents, Henry, and Lucy (Bauer) Prissel; her siblings, Margie Bollinger, Annabelle Richmond, Delores Lietke, Dorothy Driver, Arnold Prissel and Willard “Bill” Prissel.

Honoring Carols wishes, there will be no funeral services. 

The family would like to extend a special thank you for Connie and Ron Weiss and the staff at Sacred Heart for the kindness and care for Carol during her last days.
