Carol Jean Baker

Carol Jean Baker, age 68, of Mondovi passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully at her home on Tuesday, August 22, 2017. She was born on September 28, 1948 in Winona a daughter of Josephine "Josie" Geodker and the late George Rossin She attended Winona Senior High School. On October 2, 1965, Carol was united in marriage to Kenneth "Butch" Baker at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Winona. Butch preceded Carol in death on December 16, 2005. For 15 years, Carol and her husband owned and operated Carol n' Butch's Bar in downtown Alma. Six months later, they moved to Mondovi and purchased the bar known by many as Coyote Carol's in downtown Mondovi. After fire destroyed the building, they moved north of Mondovi where she operated the bar until the passing of her husband. Carol will be sadly missed by her mom, Josie of Winona; sister, Marion (Ronald) Palmer of Stockton, MN; brother, Jeff (significant other, Stacy Erdmann) of Winona; nieces, Rachel (Art) Williams and Christina (Mike) Staige; nephew, Michael Palmer; great nephews, Cameron and Devin Staige. Carol was preceded in death by her father and her husband. Carol's wishes were to be cremated. Private family services will be held at a later date.
